What is Nagula Chavithi?

Nagula Chavithi (నాగుల చవితి) is a Hindu festival observed mainly in South India dedicated to the worship of Naga Devatas (serpent gods). The day falls on the Chaturthi (fourth day) of the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon) in the month of Kartika (October/November).

Devotees, especially women, observe fasting, snake puja, abhishekam, and offer naivedyam to protect the family and children from evil forces and to seek fertility, health, and prosperity.
