GSA Hosts VETS 2 DPA Training Webinar for Federal IT Acquisition on August 19, 2025

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) will conduct a free webinar today, August 19, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Eastern Time (11:30 PM to 12:30 AM IST, August 20, 2025), focusing on the VETS 2 Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). This virtual session targets federal users, including contracting officers, program managers, and executive staff, offering critical insights into using the VETS 2 GWAC for IT initiatives. Warranted contracting officers must complete this training to obtain Delegation of Procurement Authority (DPA) for issuing task orders under the contract.

VETS 2 GWAC: Empowering Veteran-Owned Businesses

The VETS 2 GWAC is a dedicated contract for Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs), providing federal agencies with a robust platform to procure diverse IT services, including emerging technologies. In June 2024, the GSA raised the contract ceiling by $1.1 billion to a total of $6.1 billion, reinforcing its role in federal IT procurement. The contract supports multiple task order types, including fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, and time-and-materials, catering to varied mission needs.

Webinar Details and Inclusivity

Exclusively for federal acquisition professionals, this webinar is not open to contractors. Participants will earn one Continuous Learning Point (CLP), supporting federal acquisition certification requirements. The GSA ensures accessibility with real-time closed captioning and American Sign Language interpretation available upon request. For accommodations or inquiries, contact the GSA at 855-482-4348 or ITCSC@gsa.gov.

Training and DPA Process

Warranted contracting officers are required to complete VETS 2 DPA training before requesting procurement authority. Alternatives to live webinars include reviewing the VETS 2 ordering guide, completing the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) course FAC 180, or watching GSA’s YouTube training videos. After training, officers must submit an online DPA request form. The GSA encourages attending live sessions for direct engagement with instructors.

Registration and Further Information

Registration for the August 19 webinar is available through the GSA’s website or the FAITAS platform, typically closing 24 hours prior to the event. Additional sessions are planned for 2025, including February 7, April 15, and May 20. For more details on the VETS 2 GWAC or future webinars, visit www.gsa.gov or contact the GSA’s IT Category Solutions Center.

This webinar is a vital opportunity for federal professionals to enhance their expertise in the VETS 2 contract, optimize IT acquisitions, and support veteran-owned businesses, aligning with federal priorities for efficiency and inclusivity.
