GCP DevOps/Platform Engineer (Contract)

Tenth Revolution, through its specialist brand Jefferson Frank, is a
global leader in cloud recruitment, connecting top talent with
innovative projects. We are seeking an experienced GCP DevOps/Platform
Engineer for a 6-month contract to build and optimize cloud
infrastructure for a dynamic client project, fully remote and outside
IR35.
Role Overview
As a GCP DevOps/Platform Engineer, you will design, build, and
optimize cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You’ll
leverage Python, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and metrics-driven approaches
to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-performing systems, working
remotely with a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable GCP infrastructure to support business
applications.
Develop and maintain Kubernetes clusters for containerized workloads.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments using Python and
IaC tools (e.g., Terraform).
Set up and optimize monitoring solutions using Prometheus and other
metrics tools.
Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure cloud-native best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance and reliability issues in cloud
environments.
Requirements
Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., GKE,
Compute Engine, Cloud Storage).
Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
Experience with Prometheus for monitoring and metrics-driven observability.
Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Cloud Build).
Ability to work independently in a fully remote, fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice-to-Haves
GCP certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer,
Professional Cloud Architect).
Experience with additional monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Stackdriver).
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or
Deployment Manager.
Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
