Trump Urges End to Epstein Files Speculation, Defends Attorney General Pam Bondi

July 13, 2025 | By NRIGlobe Staff

President Donald Trump has called on his supporters to move past speculation surrounding the so-called "Epstein Files," dismissing them as a distraction created by political adversaries. In a recent Truth Social post, Trump defended Attorney General Pam Bondi, who has faced scrutiny from some within the MAGA movement over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. The FBI and Justice Department have recently reiterated that no evidence supports conspiracy theories about Epstein’s death or the existence of an alleged client list.

Trump Addresses Epstein Controversy

In a lengthy statement on Truth Social, President Trump described his administration as "PERFECT" and urged unity among his supporters, criticizing those fixated on the Epstein case. "Let’s not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about," Trump wrote, redirecting focus to his claims of a "Rigged and Stolen Election of 2020." He accused political opponents, including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, of fabricating the Epstein narrative to undermine his administration.

Trump’s remarks come after a Justice Department and FBI memo concluded that Epstein died by suicide in 2019 and that no "client list" implicating high-profile figures exists. This has sparked frustration among some of Trump’s base, who anticipated significant revelations from the files.

Defense of Attorney General Pam Bondi

Attorney General Pam Bondi has been at the center of the controversy, particularly after earlier statements suggesting she had access to significant Epstein-related documents. In February, Bondi told Fox News she was reviewing a supposed client list, raising expectations among supporters. However, the recent DOJ memo clarified that no such list exists, leading to accusations from far-right influencers like Laura Loomer and Alex Jones that Bondi misled the public.

Trump staunchly defended Bondi, stating, "LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT!" He praised her leadership and urged his base to stop attacking her, emphasizing her "FANTASTIC" work. The President also expressed frustration with internal conflicts, particularly involving FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino, both of whom have faced criticism over the Epstein case.

FBI and DOJ Findings on Epstein

The Justice Department and FBI have consistently maintained that Epstein’s 2019 death in a Manhattan jail cell was a suicide, supported by video evidence reviewed by former Attorney General Bill Barr. The recent memo further debunked claims of a client list or blackmail involving powerful individuals, disappointing those who expected new revelations.

FBI Director Kash Patel addressed the controversy, stating, "The conspiracy theories just aren’t true, never have been," and reaffirmed his commitment to serving Trump’s administration. However, reports suggest Deputy Director Dan Bongino, a former conservative podcaster, considered resigning over the handling of the Epstein files, highlighting tensions within the administration.

MAGA Base Divided

The Epstein case has long been a fixation for conspiracy theorists, particularly within the MAGA movement. Prominent figures like Steve Bannon and Laura Loomer have called for Bondi’s resignation, with some warning that the issue could cost Trump political support. At a recent conservative conference in Tampa, the Epstein files dominated discussions, underscoring the divide among Trump’s supporters.

Critics like Alex Jones sarcastically remarked, "Next the DOJ will say ‘Actually, Jeffrey Epstein never even existed,’" reflecting skepticism about the official narrative. Meanwhile, Trump’s call to shift focus to other priorities, such as voter fraud investigations, has not fully quelled the unrest among his base.

Trump’s Past Connection to Epstein

Trump’s association with Epstein, including appearances together at social events in the 1990s, has fueled speculation. However, the President has denied any direct involvement, with Patel reinforcing that the conspiracy theories are baseless. Despite these assurances, some supporters remain dissatisfied with the administration’s decision to close the Epstein case without releasing additional records.

Looking Ahead

As Trump seeks to unify his base, the Epstein controversy highlights the challenges of managing expectations within the MAGA movement. The administration’s focus on other priorities, such as election fraud claims, may help redirect attention, but the Epstein saga continues to resonate with conspiracy-minded supporters.
