Amazon Web Services (AWS) has kicked off Phase 2 construction at its major data center site near Meerkhanpet in South Hyderabad, as part of a massive $7 billion (over ₹63,000 crore) investment to strengthen cloud infrastructure in Telangana.
This development is a key step in AWS’s long-term commitment to expand its Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region, which will power cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and digital transformation for businesses and governments across India.

The Phase 2 work at Meerkhanpet follows the initial groundwork and is part of a strategic framework agreement signed between AWS and the Telangana government in December 2025.
