Shell is accelerating the energy transition—and we are hiring a Renewable Energy Engineer to drive the design and development of large-scale offshore and onshore wind farm projects in the Netherlands therefore This role is ideal for international talent with experience in renewable systems, offering full visa sponsorship however the Highly Skilled Migrant program.
About the Role
You’ll join Shell’s Renewable Energy Solutions team, in addition supporting wind power infrastructure from feasibility to final commissioning. You will work with cross-functional engineering, construction, and sustainability teams to bring high-impact projects to life.
Key Responsibilities
Design, assess, and optimize wind farm layouts and energy yield models
Evaluate environmental, structural, and grid integration factors
Conduct feasibility studies and support permitting and compliance processes
Manage technical specifications, budgeting, and project milestones
Collaborate with external contractors and internal Shell teams globally
Ensure alignment with Shell’s low-carbon energy strategy and net-zero targets
Ideal Candidate Profile
Degree in Renewable Energy, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
4+ years of experience in wind energy or utility-scale renewable projects
Proficient in wind resource modeling software (for example: WAsP, WindPro, OpenWind)
Strong knowledge of energy systems, project financing, and grid connection
Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
Eligible for or seeking sponsorship via the Netherlands Highly Skilled Migrant Permit
